Walk in the footsteps of Romans and Vikings as you explore the historic streets. Climb the steps to walk the medieval stone walls. Savour the peace and quiet of York Minster.
Take a day to explore the Yorkshire Dales National Park. Find historic castles, abbey’s, villages and markets. See traditional crafts in the making such as; ropes, pottery, ale, ice cream and my favourite Wensleydale cheese.
Another grand day out leads you into the North York Moors ‘Heartbeat country’, for some greatwalks, cycles, or a leisurely ride on the North Yorkshire Steam railway.
For great fish and chips, the coastal villages of Robin Hoods Bay, Whitby, Scarborough and Filey are all just an hours drive away.
Throughout the year there are many events held in York such as a Viking festival, Roman Festival, and Chrhistmas Fayre.
